Never The Same Again was part of the group exhibition Finder's View held at Gallery Red as part of Head On 2012

Never The Same Again encapsulates the ‘Finder’s View’ idea by exploring the concept of the ‘viewfinder’ within a camera, using a long exposure. In this way, the view becomes outside the realms of human perspective, and not the photographer’s own. The picture saw me relinquishing control of the image surrendering to the viewfinder: hence, it is the ‘Finder’s View’. Never The Same Again also explores the idea of ‘finding’ being attached to time as well as space. The image presents a scene that could only be found at that time of day, of year and in history.

American Waters 1 - 4

Group exhibition Incubate at Art Est, Leichhardt NSW Australia as part of Head On Photo Festival 2012

These four photos were taken whilst travelling in the United States.  'American Waters 1' was taken at Coney Island, New York and 'American Waters 2' was taken on a journey between New York and Boston. 'American Waters 3' was taken on a boiling hot day at Ocean Beach, San Francisco. These three photos are inspired by my preoccupation with symmetry and space, while I also feel there is a detachment and sadness to these pictures.  'American Waters 4' is an extension of some of my previous photographic projects exploring cloud/landscapes, the vista below being my first view of America flying in from London.
